Breckon Farms bred, reared and sold two new two-year-old winners in Bamm Bamm (Tall Dark Stranger-Bubbled Up) and Bill Ackman (Art Major-Linda Lovegrace) at Alexandra Park and Winton respectively last week.
Bamm Bamm, a $45,000 buy at the NZB Yearling Sale at Karaka last year, posted his first win at his fifth start in a heat of the NZ Sires’ Stakes, rating a slick 1:54.6 for 1700 metres with the last 800 in 54.8 seconds.
Another Breckon Farms’ bred, Lucky Luka, finished a close third.
Bill Ackman scored on debut beating older rivals at a 2:03.7 rating over 2400 metres.
Talented trotter Higher Power (Father Patrick-High Gait), who was bred and is part-owned by Breckon Farms, came off a 10 metre handicap to win his 10th race at Alexandra Park and tipped his stake earnings over the $260,000 plateau.
At Addington on Friday night, the 3YO Stumblin In (Always B Miki-Gladamare), also bred and part-owned by the Breckon’s, notched his third lifetime success.
In North America, the Breckon Farms’ bred gelding Never Say Never (Bettor’s Delight-Maid In Splendour) won in 1:57.8 at Bangor Raceway, Maine.
