A trio of Breckon Farms’ bred and reared trotters in Suttle, Eyes Wide Open and Major Doosie all rung up number one at Addington last Friday (August 28).
The three-year-old filly Suttle (Tactical Landing-Lovemelikeyoudo) led in a Breckon Farms quinella with Regal Summit second after leading for the last 1200 metres and zipping home the last two quarters in 29.3 and 29.
Suttle, who notched her first success at her sixth start, was knocked down for the second highest price paid for a trotting filly of $75,000 at the National Yearling Sale at Karaka in 2024.
Interestingly, Suttle and Regal Summit are out of the full sisters Lovemelikeyoudo and Regal Love respectively.
Two hours later, the two-year-old gelding Eyes Wide Open (What The Hill-Eilish Aimee) romped him to score by six lengths on debut.
After leading early, the gelding handed up in the last lap and retook the front half-way down the home straight, carving out his last 800 in a slick 58.5. He was a $32,500 buy at last year’s National Sale at Karaka.
Major Doosie (Majestic Son-Yankeedoosie) posted his sixth success and earned a new speed badge of 1:59.9 when he outsprinted his rivals along the passing lane. He has now banked $88,378.
In North America, the Breckon Farms bred gelding Ragnar Lothbrok (Art Major-Sem’s Delight) hoisted a fresh lifetime record of 1:51.2 winning at the Pocono Downs five-eighths oval in Pennsylvania on Saturday (August 29).
