Group 1 glory, syndicate wins and more - it was a weekend to remember for Breckon Farms!
The talented 2YO colt, Breckon-bred Allamericanplayer, clinched victory in a thrilling edition of the Group 1 Avon City Ford NZ Welcome Stakes at Addington Raceway. Trained by Steve and Amanda Telfer and expertly driven by Tim Williams, the son of Goodlookingbabe proved too good at the elite level. Allamericanplayer was purchased by Stonewall Stud and Stables from our NZB Yearling Draft last year for $155,000.
At Alexandra Park, Higher Power, a talented son of High Gait, secured his third career victory, further cementing his reputation as a rising star. With just 10 lifetime starts, Higher Power has recorded 3 wins and 4 seconds, including a runner-up finish at Group 1 level. It’s particularly special for us to share ownership alongside our Farm Manager, Nigel Fahy. His dam, High Gait, gave us many thrills on the track, and her legacy continues through her progeny. Earlier in the evening, High Energy (also out of High Gait) ran a gutsy second-place finish, pushing her career earnings past the $200,000 mark.
The excitement continued for the Breckon Farms Lucky Eight Syndicate with Ocean Eyes delivering an excellent win at Alexandra Park. This lightly raced 3YO filly has now notched 2 wins and 4 placings.
Meanwhile, across the ditch at Menangle, Major Hot claimed his seventh career victory, further showcasing his consistent form. With an additional 18 placings to his name, Major Hot’s career earnings are closing in on the $300,000 mark.
Congratulations to all the connections involved! There’s great satisfaction in watching our Breckon-bred progeny go on to perform so well on the track, and we truly enjoy being part of their journey.
