Cambridge trotting double for Breckon Farms

A pair of Breckon Farms bred and raised trotters in Kiss My Pixel and Ferdinand both won on the same card at Cambridge Raceway on Friday (July 3).

Kiss My Pixel sat parked for the last lap before careering away to win a heat of the Silk Road Series.

The Father Patrick mare has now won three races and just shy of $60,000 in stakes. She is out of the Muscles Yankee mare Broadband, the dam also of Wy Fi (4 wins and $78,711) and Megaband (1 win).

Ferdinand, a six-year-old What The Hill gelding, enjoyed a perfect trip before being tipped three-wide approaching the straight entrance and producing a stomping run to prevail in the last stride.

The gelding is from the multiple Group 2 winner Fear Factor (by Sundon), who has left six winners including the Victoria Trotters Derby and Breeders Crown champion Stress Factor, and the multiple Group 3 winner Prince Fearless.

On the same night, the promising Breckon Farms bred three-year-old Ringleader posted his first success at his fourth start at Addington.

After settling down second last, the Always B Miki gelding circled the entire field in the space of 300 metres to score by 3-1/2 lengths in a 1:58.8 rating over 1980 metres.

A $50,000 purchase at the 2024 Karaka sale, Ringleader ranks as a brother to the brilliant Rubira, a winner of 11 races – including five at Group level – and a hefty $432,306.

Breckon Farms also bred a couple of fast winners in New York last week.

Ragnar Lothbrok (Art Major-Sem’s Delight) won a $21,000 race in 1:53.2 at Yonkers Raceway, while In A Wink (Bettor’s Delight-Goodlookingbabe) scored in 1:58.2 at Buffalo Raceway.
