Lucky Luka, a two-year-old colt bred, raised and sold by Breckon Farms, completed back-to-back successes when he came from near last to score at Alexandra Park on Friday (June 26).

Given a sweet trip by Tony Herlihy, the Bettor’s Delight colt was tipped three-wide approaching the home turn and unleashed a paralysing finishing burst to prevail by two lengths.

He rated 1:59.4 for 2200 metres with the last 800 in a slick 56.8 seconds.

A $55,000 yearling, Lucky Luka is the second foal from the three-win Art Major mare Settle Petal (1:55.5), a half-sister to four sub 2:00 winners including the Gloucester Park winners Prince Of Pain ($260,839) and Prince Of Pain.

On the same night, the five-year-old Renegade (Captaintreacherous-Double Shot) overcame a 25 metre handicap to post his eighth win at Addington.

Bought for $47,000 at the NZB National Yearling Sale at Karaka in 2024, Renegade has banked $164,738.

Meanwhile, Party Central, a four-year-old Captaintreacherous gelding, led for the final 1200 metres and held on gamely to win in 1:51.9 over the flying mile at Menangle on Tuesday (June 23).

It was his sixth success and improved his stake earnings to almost $50,000.

Out of the triple Oaks winner Partyon ($658,478), Party Central, a $100,000 yearling, ranks as a half-brother to the good Victorian and Tasmanian winner My Way.

Another product of Breckon Farms in Miraculous (Bettor’s Delight-Kelly Maguire) hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:49.8 winning a $20,000 leg of the Pop Up Series at Woodbine Mohawk Park, Ontario, Canada on Saturday night (June 27).
