
Tattica, the highest priced trotting yearling at $180,000 at the NZB National Yearling Sale at Karaka in 2024, broke through for her first win at her fourth start at the Premier Meeting at Alexandra Park on Friday night (May 1). She worked to the front in the first lap and was never again headed, winning by 2-3/4 lengths with the last 800 metres in 60.3 seconds.
By Tactical Landing, the three-year-old filly is out of the grand producer Love Ya Doosie, the dam of six winners from seven foals of racing age including the NSW and Victoria Trotters Derby and Green Lane Cup winner Kyvalley Hotspur, the Great Northern Trotting Derby and NZB Harness Million winner Lovemeto and the three-time Group winner Kyvalley Chief.
On the same night Allamericanplayer (Bettor’s Delight-Goodlookingbabe) finished a creditable second in the Group 1 $196,500 Northern Derby.
Sweet Willow (Sweet Lou-Willow), who earned a new speed badge of 1:57.8 for 2000 metres at Manawatu, and the Winton winner Mr President (Sweet Lou-Affairs Of State), who posted his seventh success for $110,066 in stakes, were other Breckon Farms bred and raised winners in New Zealand last weekend.
Meanwhile, in Australia, Sweet Dior (Sweet Lou-Carpen Dior) led throughout to register her fifth win from only 14 starts rating 1:56.8 over 2138 metres at the midweek Albion Park meeting.
