Racing Action 7/3

Breckon Farms once again has a good number of farm-bred or foaled, owned or related horses lining up to race this weekend.

On Thursday at over Redcliffe in Race 7 is Raesawinner who hasn’t been racing that well of late and will need some improvement to take this out.
At Penrith in Race 4 is Vasari who has been thereabouts in most of his races since last winning back in January and with a little luck from his 2nd Row draw here can get some of this too.

At Swan Hill in Race 4 is Pocket Thedeal who finished 4th under not so good a drive last week and has been thereabouts in prior racing, so from the ace should get his chance to place here.

On Friday at Auckland in Race 2 is Forget The Price Tag who ran on strongly for a good 2nd placing last week and over the longer 2700m distance should be right in this again despite his 20m handicap and a smart up and comer in Tricky Ric off the Front. In Race 3 is Bubbled Up who was a pleasing 5th when running on in record run Oaks last week, so with the drop on class here should be competitive. In Race 5 is Elle Mac who has lost her way since setting a NZ Record 1:51.6 on this track, with a couple of under par performances and a flat tyre, so will need lots of improvement to get back on track in this. In Race 7 is Another Masterpiece who is back from Australia for this Gr.1 Northern Derby and with consistent form at this level must rate as a leading chance.

Over at Gloucester Park in Race 1 is Bronze Seeker who was checked and broke last week, but prior form was thereabouts, so from the ace here rates the one to beat. In Race 7 are Neighlor who got locked away last week and didn’t get into it, but shapes as the one to beat in this and Just Rockon Bye who was also locked away fresh-up last week and on natural improvement can feature in the finish too.

On Saturday over at Newcastle in Race 4 is Our Dream To Reality who has missed in his last couple, but prior form was good, however has the extreme outside Front Row draw over 1609m here, so this won’t be easy. In Race 5 is Lovin Miss Daisy who was a good winner in 1:53.4 when last presented on this track 2-weeks back and from the ace here should prove hard to beat again.

At Menangle in Race 4 is Rocking who was a good 3rd on this track 2-starts back and then followed that up with another 3rd at Newcastle 2-weeks ago and so should be right in this from No.4 over 1609m. At Melton in Race 7 is Rock Tonight who was an improvers 2nd placing behind Monty Python last week, but comes up with another 2nd Row draw and with a classy field assembled for this Gr.1 Australian Trotting Grand Prix, it won’t be easy.

At Broken Hill (Non TAB) in Race 5 is Veluti who was a good 3rd fresh-up when last presented on this track 3-weeks back and should be right in this from his Front Row draw over 1900m.

At Globe Derby Park in Race 1 is Crystal Sparkles who is a very consistent mare resuming after a spell, but will need a little luck from her 2nd Row draw with several form runners off the Front Line here.

On Sunday over at Wagga at Riverina Paceway in Race 10 is Vettel who is resuming here after a short break, so will have to be taken on trust, but is capable of giving this a shake.

At Hobart in Race 6 are Stylish Trend who was a good winner last Sunday at Burnie off a 20m back mark and starts from the same handicap in this so is certainly capable of repeating here and Laredo Torpedo who is fresh-up after winning a trial on Monday on this course and with a 4-race winning streak late last year deserves some respect, but does have a 40m back mark to overcome that won’t be easy
