Winners this week include …


Purest Silk (4m Rocknroll Hanover / Veste by Christian Cullen) won at Gloucester Park on the 14th May where she drew No.6 and when the field settled down she was facing the breeze, before getting cover when a horse from the back took over giving Purest Silk the ideal run for the last lap, then turning for home she came out 3-wide to win by 1.6m in a 1:57.6 Mile Rate for the 2130m journey (with Crystal Sparkles finishing a good second this gave the farm the quinella), to now have 8 wins & 5 placings for $75,717 – bred by the Coburg Syndicate.


Quick As Fire (4h Bettor’s Delight / Queen Of Fire by Courage Under Fire) won at Cambridge on the 16th May drawing No.1 he went straight to the front and stayed there for the entire 2,700m, going on for a comfortable win in a 2:02.4 Mile Rate and now has 2 wins & 4 placings for $16,360 – bred by the Butterworth Bloodstock Syndicate.


Tickle Me Pink (3f Muscle Hill / Luby Ann by Andover Hall) won at Auckland on the 17th May where she drew No.3 on the 2nd Row in the Group 3 Haras des Trotteurs Northern Trotting Oaks to settle near the rear 1-out-and-4-back, then with 1200m to go she went forward 3-wide to take the lead with a round-to-go and went on to win with plenty in reserve by 1½ lengths to now have 7 wins for $79,687 to date and be 3rd on the Jewels Leaderboard – bred by Breckon Farms Ltd and raced by the Breckon Farms The Perfect Ten Syndicate.


One Change (2c Bettor’s Delight / Changedown by Falcon Seelster) won at Addington on the 17th May where he drew No.4 and was sent out favourite for the Group 1 Garrards 2YO Sires Stakes Final where he was quickly away to lead early before taking the trail behind stablemate Flying Even Bettor and turning for home these two put a big gap on the field with One Change getting up to win by a nose from his stable mate in a Track Record 1:53.4 Mile Rate for the 1980m. He is now top of the Jewels Leaderboard with $118,437 but his actual stakes winnings are $212,707 because 2 races he has won are not eligible for his Jewels tally – bred by RG Carr & DG Kirkbride.


Tailored Elegance (2f Muscle Hill / Classic Armbro by Armbro Invasion) also won at Addington on the 17th May in the Group 2 Haras des Trotteurs Sires Stakes 2YO Championship over 1980m where she drew No.8 and was patiently driven at the start to end up in the 1x1, then came 3-wide with 300m to go, hitting the lead 170m out and held off all challengers to win by a neck and is now 1st on the Jewels Leaderboard for 2YO Trotters at $31,466 (the first 3 home were all by Muscle Hill) – bred by Breckon Farms Ltd.
Princess Tiffany (3f Art Major / Dancing Diamonds by Bettors Delight’) was another winner at Addington on the 17th May, drawing No.12 (2nd Row) in the 2600m Group 1 NZ Pacing Oaks, she got into the 3-wide line, then dropped into the 2-wide-and-5-back position, before pulling out in the straight to sit parked with a round-to-go, then rounding the final bend she opened up a gap with her stable mate close behind followed by the favourite, but she was too strong and won by 2¾ lengths in a 1:56.4 Mile Rate, with Kayla Marie (also bred on the farm) completing the quinella for the breeders Braeden & Caroline Whitelock - both these fillies are in the Jewels.


Mathew James (3g Bettor’s Delight / Taylor Kate by Artsplace) won at Gloucester Park on the 18th May where he drew No.3 and worked his way to the lead, to get it turning into the back straight the first time and was never headed, running away from the field to win by 18.8m in a 1:56.2 Mile Rtae for the 2130m to now have 5 wins & 2 placings from 7 starts for $38,829 – bred by RA & JV Yarndley.


King Of Swing (4h Rocknroll Hanover / Twist and Twirl by Artsplace) also won at Gloucester Park on the 18th May drawing No.4 he settled before working to the lead rounding the first bend of the 2536m and like Mathew James there were no challenges and went on to win by 23m to now have 17 wins & 6 placings for $446,958 – bred by Breckon Farms Ltd.

Placed horses this week were Emiliana 2nd at Cranbourne, Typhoon Stride 2nd at Menangle, Crystal Sparkles 2nd at Gloucester Park, Sea Change 2nd and Stars Delight 3rd both at Cambridge, Flying Even Bettor 2nd and Kayla Marie 2nd both at Addington, Rocking 3rd at Menangle, Vasari 3rd at Albion Park.
