The Breckon Bred contingent at Addington Raceway on Friday night have big boots to fill as the graduates continue to fly on track domestically this week.

We head to Addington tonight, coming off the back of a race winning double at Cambridge Raceway on Thursday night where SETTLE PETAL and I SEE FIRE took out Race 1 and Race 2 for Strike Won Racing Stables. I SEE FIRE’s win edged Tony to 999 domestic training wins (under HRNZ rules, international successes aren't counted). Bring on the (NZ) 1000th!

Talking of training records, NEEDAMARGARITA (Fellamongstabeauty) secured Brent Mango's 400th Training victory when she saluted at Manawatu on Tuesday in the hands of Matty White. Congratulations to Brent, Dianne and their team for this great achievement.

Wednesday night at Addington saw COSMIC MAJOR secure a 4L victory on debut, also securing Cullen Racing's first win for their new colours.

Expertly rated by Tim Williams, the son of Group2 winner ROZELSKI made easy work of his opposition once finding the top with a lap to go. A NZB Standardbred Karaka Graduate the Art Major colt was secured by long term farm clients Kennard Bloodstock for one of their syndicates for $37,500.

We’ll be looking to see if we pull off a race to race double again when four Ohaupo born and raised line up in Race 4 and 5 tonight at South Island headquarters.

Race 4 The Alabar Farms 2YO Trot see’s NZB Standardbred Karaka Sales Graduate WY FI (Broadband) debut for Cullen Racing. A $40,000 sales purchase the gelding has impressed at his recent outings.

Fellow stable mate ELLARIA SAND daughter of Grp1 Redwood Classic winner Daenerys Targaryen also debuts for the Breckon Farms - Slick Six Syndicate

Our attention then turns to Race 5 where BETTOR CALL ME (Callmemaybe) and PACE N PRIDE (Maid In Splendour) continue their path to the Group1 Diamond Creek Farm NZ Pacing Derby on April 9th.

Tonight's event is sponsored by Ian Dobson, owner of the champion Christian Cullen. Pace N Pride is bred on what is commonly referred to as the "golden cross" being sired by Bettor's Delight with Christian Cullen being the sire of his dam Maid in Splendour, hopefully a good omen!

Pace N Pride is coming off the back of his impressive 1.54.8MR win last start at Addington where Bettor Call Me was gallant in third. Both are colts on the up and a bold showing is expected again tonight.

We wish the connections of all the Breckon Farms runners the best of luck this evening.
